Have you kept a BP log at home? I say this b/c my BP tends to be significantly higher when taken by my doc (the 'white coat' effect). When I was in the hospital for a week, my BP shot up to about 150/100, and my pdoc in the hospital was concerned and started me on a low sodium diet, but the funny part was that first thing in the morning (when they would wake me up to take it) it was fine, but in the evening (around 8 p.m.) it was elevated. After I got out of the hospital, my regular pdoc told me to get a BP monitor and keep a log at home, which I did, and my BP went back to normal. But when he takes it at his office, it's almost always high.
Sooo...it could be the doc. Not you.
Other than that - I'm 27 and never had any BP trouble until this year. So, maybe age *is* a factor.
Just a thought.
