I have been taking 325 mg of Effexor a day for at least 3 years. I also take 1800 mg of Neurontin daily. I want to stop! When I began I was severly depressed. I had a freak falling accident and subsequently lost a business that I loved. That was in 1994 and I have since put that behind me. I keep telling my doctor that I want to stop the antidepressants but he says I will be sorry if I do. I'm concerned about the long term effects since I am 51 and would like to live a more productive life. My memory is shot and my ability to motivate myself in any way does not exist. Help!
Re: Neurontin
I take Neurontin for the pain in my back, neck and shoulder. When I try to wean myself off I suffer. I go to physical therapy twice a week and that helps in the (very) short run and I don't want anymore cortisone or lidicane shots nor do I want surgery. I'm frustrated. Any ideas?
I also had my ovaries removed in October 2002 so I am experiencing some hormonal changes. When I start to get shakey I take one xanax and that helps but I'm tired of living on drugs.
In one simple question....HOW DO I STOP TAKING THESE OR ANY OTC DRUGS ON MY OWN????????
Thanks for your help
