I was on Prozac for 10 years, and it really helped. After it finally pooped out on me I went on Paxil - an absolute nightmare from hell for me. Then on to Lexapro which gave me stomach pains (at 5mgs per day) so I had to stop it (although 99% people I know who took Lexapro did NOT have that reaction), then on to Zoloft which helped some and then on to Celexa which is what I am on now. It is the most similar to Prozac and seems to help quite a lot with very little side effects. My point is that each person is different and will react differently to each med. I do understand your concern, and if it is any consulation I have a tendency to be extremely sensitive to a lot of meds which is kind of unusual I think. A lot of folks I know really like Lexapro, do not get sick on it, and find it very helpful, so I hope it works well for you. Remember to give it about 4-6 weeks to work- could even work sooner hopefully. Good luck and let us know!
