I doubt if your pdoc will like the idea very much. It's counting very much on selegiline acting like a RIMA *in your case* at low dose. As this has not gone beyond small trials (IIRC) who's to say this would be the case for everyone? *If* it is acting as a MAOI rather than a RIMA then you would be in danger of tyramine crisis or interactions with such things as cold/allergy medications which you wouldn't be actively on the lookout to prevent.
It's asking for the pdoc to go off-label too. IIRC selegiline is only FDA-approved for Parkinson's.
