This is my first post so I thought I would give a little background info. I am 38 male. I currently am on Disability after a major panic attack at work followed by a suicide attempt later in the week. At the time of the incident I was on Effexor and Buspar to treat depression and anxiety.
My current Medications and Doasages are:
Wellbuttrin 200mg twice daily. -Deppresion
Xanax 1 to 2mg as needed. -Panick Attacks
Ritalin LA 20mg around noon. -Concentration
Lexapro 40mg in the evening. -Depresion
Klonopin 4mg at bedtime. -Sleep and Anxiety
Serzone 50mg increasing 200mg -Sleep & DepressionI was prescribed Serzone yesterday and was told that it would help with depression and sleep though it would not have the serious sedative side effects throughout the following day that I have had in the past with Trazadone. I tend to be hyper sensitive to medications and trazadone knocked me off my feet even at a low dose for most of the day.
My concerns, I took my first dosage of Serzone last night, Tossed and Turned, and spent the remainder of the today sick to my stomach and in an extreme fog. Have other people experienced this? Does it go away?
The Serzone now really scares me. I have been slowly putting my life together, returned to school in August, and need to be alert, etc... I don't want to take a step backwards when things have been looking up.
Secondly, Has anyone heard of such a massive combination of medications being prescribed by a P-Doc for depression and anxiety. Since my suicide attempt it seems that we just add... add... add medications. My pharmacist knows me by name... my medicine cabinet is overflowing and I am starting to loose confidence in my P-Doc's knowledge of medications and usage. How can my P-Doc possibly know what is and isn't working with such a combination? I wonder if some of the medications are causing the anxiety and others causing the depression?
I am considering a new doctor...? But, they are very hard to come by locally.
This post seems as if it has become a big jumbled rammble... But, I needed to get it out.
Any input on the serzone (positive/stick with it...) or (Negative/If 50mg makes you tired...) would be appreciated.
In addition any input concering the medicine combinations that I am currently taking would be greatly appreciated.
