Not to worry, I've had my doctor test me for anything serious that could be causing it. Beyond that, I'm only 30, so a heart attack is probably 10 years away.
My suspicion of panic attack is also based on the fact that my father used to get them frequently, and there'a a genetic component to it. Something else I hadn't mentioned (and just recently remembered) is the fact that I seemed to have a slight sense of control over it. I forced myself to breathe deeply and relax, which may have kept it from getting worse (or maybe it was just a coincidence).
