The lexapro should work considering that oxy affects endorphins and not serintonin. There is a potential that over the 3 years of oxy use that the serintonin transmitters have been modified by either chemical or mental means. This is unlikely though. The more likely situation is that he doesn't think it is working because he is looking for the feel good feeling of oxy, which is COMPLETELY different than the feel good of an anti-depressant. I have had a "fun" run with oxy that almost killed me and was peaking at 400 mg a day oxycodone. I have weaned down to 40 a day and will be off within about a month. I am starting to take lexapro today to deal with the depression that sets in after I quit. The pysical side effects of detoxification aren't even the worst part heh. I know I won't be high when I quit but at least I won't be suicidal.
