Will I ever get off Remeron?

I've been on Remeron for 3 years...I started taking it because I was suffering from severe insomnia and depression and had lost a lot of weight. Now I've gained it back and THEN SOME! I started the Remeron at 30 mgs and now am on 15mgs a night. The weight issue is really getting to me. I've tried Ambien before, but some nights it worked and others it didn't...any other solutions?
