I've been on 75mg Effexor XR for 4 days. I also take Img Klonipin daily (divided into 2 doses). I'm extremely lethargic, unmotivated and "bored". Have no energy for working out or anything else. Had some of the lethargy on the Klonipin prior, but not to this degree. I've been off AD's for about 6 weeks, felt great, but my anxieties and irritablity returned, so started on Klonipin. Worked immediately. My GP insisted I add Effexor to the Klonipin, because he was worried about a relapse into a deep depression, which occurred before when I stopped Celexa, and began with anxiety. I am waiting to see a Pdoc, to get a definitive diagnosis and maybe more aggressive treatment, cuz I think Klonipin, plus a more "activating" drug is all I need. I will see him in about 3 weeks.
In the meantime, I'm willing to put up with the sluggish way I feel, hoping it will pass, until I see the psych. However, if I need to change from Effexor (and I hope he'll let me, cuz i don't want an SSRI or SNRI), I've read about the hellish withdrawal on this board many times. Is three weeks on Effexor long enough to create bad withdrawal?? Should I stop now and just wait for my new doc's opinion?
