> My doctor has tapered me off adderall XR. I'm on a new medication called Strattera, but it doesnt seem to be working and i've been on it for over 3 months, and still no results, and my grades are droping!. If he does put me back on a stimulant medication, i dont want adderall, it seemed make me slightly euphoric, but then followed by a nasty feeling, wasnt pleasant. Is dexedrine a good med? Desosyn?, please someone help me with accurate information please! My grades are droping fast
Desoxyn is good, but it can also give you a euphoric feeling too... are you sure you don't have bipolar mania? (This doesn't have to feature depression episodes, like some assume).
Sounds like you need a long-acting stimulant, like Dexedrine Spansules. Or Concerta, time-released ritalin. Adderall XR is cute because you don't need to re-dose, but it's not going to help someone with a need to maintain a constant dose in their bloodstream for their mood.
When your doc tries you on something, make sure to arrange another appointment within a week or two, so you don't need to wait a month to try something you find doesn't work within a day.
Oh, and Straterra is often effective when it's combined with a stimulant. It's nice if someone only needs it by itself, but that's just not realistic to expect... lol, silly docs.
