Alternatives to Risperdal? can anyone help?

Hi...
just wanted to ask if anyone knows any good alternative to Risperdal..
I've been taking Risperdal since last january, I'm on 3mg..I've had some improvement in the things which were out of control before I started taking it, it helps me with flashbacks and other stuff...but I feel sleepy the whole day and I can't function because I need to sleep almost the whole day...at the moment I am just surviving the days, and I feel relieved that some of what had been happening is a bit more manageable now but it hasn't disappeared completely and I was wondering if maybe there's some other medication I could take that could be better...
I see my psychiatrist on sep 22nd..She says it's a pity that i have that side-effect..I'm scared that everything will be out of control again and I'll be on the edge if I stop taking it...
Just was wondering if any of you knows of any other medication?
