hi badhair, I feel for you with this. I was in the same situation until recently but luckily my pdoc was open to trying 'unusual' treatments. I so desperately didnt want ect.
I think talking to the nurse may be a good idea to find out which if any of the docs there are not so keen on ect. If you keep it on this point only with her you shouldnt appear 'difficult'. Then I would just call up & say you want to swap your appointment with Fred for one with Dr NewGuy. Dont go into why & if challenged (& NewGuy will probably ask) just say you want to explore alternatives to ect before going down that road & that you want to see some other docs as you hadnt developed much of a rapport with Fred
& that's important to you.
