In reply to Regular use of cannabis and anti-depressants, posted by Caleb462 on September 3, 2003, at 2:43:28
I've been a heavy pot-smoker for a long time and I just started taking anti-depressants a few months ago. I've found that I'm doing really well despite the pot, which tends to depress me, but doesn't nearly as much as it used to now that I'm on meds. I'm also finding that I need to smoke pot less and less the better I feel. But I still enjoy it, and I highly doubt that it interferes with the meds, although it certainly does have emotional consequences independent of the meds (i.e., a tendency towards lethargy and depression, which can be somewhat debilitating if you do too much).
> Does anyone know or have any experience with this? Could regular use of cannabis prevent the theraputic effects of an anti-depressant? I ask because I'm in my 3rd week on Nardil, but I've also just learned I really, really, really like pot.
