> I have no great words of wisdom for you, but I have an 11 year old daughter who is also taking Lexapro and Strattera. Adderall was terrible for her emotionally but worked for her concentration. We just started her on Strattera a few days ago and I'm really hoping that it works out for her. She had a terrible first day on it. She was very sedated - almost like she was waking up from general anesthesia. She seems to be adjusting to it though.

> Good luck with your son!Thank you for responding to my post. Jay had difficulty with sleepiness, so our doc had him continue with the Adderal but at a small dose while he was adjusting to the Strattera. The Adderal dose was 5mg and made a world of difference. He has been on the Strattera now for a while and has increased his dose to 60 mg. He no longer is sleepy from it, but does have a tendency to yawn. His full concentration was definately better on both the COncerta and the Adderal, but the side effects of these drugs were too great. On the Strattera, he is somewhat less focused than with the others, but his personality is back to his happy loving normal self, he no longer feels "jumpy" and he has stopped picking at his skin. Overall it has been a good change of medication for him. Recently, the doc suggested that I give it to him at bedtime which we have tried, and his mornings are much more focused. This should help with school when it resumes next week. We have done this evening dose the last 2-3 weeks. The only negative is that he has woken up at5am a few days, which is not "normal" for him. I am hoping to see that there is improvement for him this year with the Strattera use. Last year was a struggle with the Concerta and Adderal use. He definitely prefers the Straterra over the other medications himself. Hope all goes well with your daughter. One other thought...Jay had a fair amount of stomach pain and gas with all the ADHD medications. We always attributed it to the medicatons. The doc had him try Prevacid because he thought it may be due to acid in his stomach due to "anxiety" at school....well, it worked! No more stomach pain and the gas is almost not there anymore! It was a great improvement.
I would like to stay in communication with you as it would be great to compare notes. Jan
