Prozac 20mg daily to Prozac Weekly??

How long should I take Prozac 20mg daily before I start Prozac Weekly? I've been taking 20mg for 10 days now and my doc said you don't have to take daily at all before starting the weekly? Seems like you need to get a little in your system before starting the weekly to me.
