>>Sure, you can become medically dependent on them<<I write that again because my doc love to use stress the issue of dependence vs addiction. dependance (he often compare it to my inhaler for asthma), being a bodily need vs addiction which is basically abuse.
Although he knows that I have both xanax and valium at home, he trusts me in that I wont take both although I would really think I could get by with a smaller valium dose if I used xanax prn with it. he says that dual bezo use is confusing as the half-lifes will over lap which, i guess makes sense.
He also, always has me on an ssri, but at a small dosage...
Of question: I recently asked what to take prn for bad spontaneous panics and we decided that a low dose atypical (.25-.5) Risperdal was worth trying.
has anyone else had any success with that??
On a lighter note...open word and plug in med names...funny that xanax--avail as a generic is a misspell with no alternative, but Prozac is fine...what did they pay bill gates for that.
Also, re xanax xr--he says for some it might be appropriate, as it has some anti-depressant effect, but in reality, it's the pharmo taking what is now an unprofitable med and making it basically valium or Klonopin in its method of action eg, same med new outfit.
