Hi Ace.
Out of curiosity, which mood-stabilizers have you been on? Are you sure that you are giving these things enough time to work? Perhaps you should start thinking in terms of weeks or months rather than days. (That's a lot easier said than done). Like I said in a previous post, the course of recovery from depression is not a steady slope. There are hills and valleys of brain activity as the system seeks a new balance in the presence of an altered, but *stable* environment.
Parnate is a good drug. I have found it easier to work with than Nardil because the side effects are less intense and the tendency towards serotonin syndrome when adding tricyclics is reduced. With Nardil, the only tricyclic I could get away with was desipramine. With Parnate, I could add imipramine and nortriptyline. (SSRIs and Effexor are contraindicated). Perhaps you will need high dosages of Parnate - like 120mg. I don't think you can draw any conclusions until you give a dosage like 60mg at least 4 weeks to work. Waiting sucks.
