Wow, your psychiatrist sounds like mine. I had all those effects at 37.5mg of Effexor XR (horrible headaches, dizziness, nausea, numbness in hands and feet) and despite the fact that they never went away for me over a 2 week period, the psychiatrist still wanted to raise the dosage; told me these side effects were just "my body adapting." I'm not sorry to say, I didn't agree and did not continue taking it. The withdrawals, even after 2 weeks, were horrible for me (electric shock feeling, etc.). I suffer from GAD and I think Effexor is just way too stimulating for me; I can't believe you are taking St. John's wort too. I never had any side effects like I had on Effexor with other SSRIs (Luvox, Prozac, Celexa, Wellbutrin), so perhaps talk with psychiatrist about trying something different? I know it's so hard.
