Hi,
If you like to drink alcohol on weekends, what supplements would you suggest to reduce the negative effects the next day.
I noticed some people like taking ALA and biotin while they drink... wat is up with that?
I have recently been taking vit B1, cysteine, general b vits and water nearing the end of my number of drinks. This choice to take these supps was based on the page, http://www.ceri.com/alcohol.htm which is nice article about alcohol but its a a few years old now and there may be new things that are better to take.
Anyway , the next day for me on this regiment is ok but not good.
Anyway I just found a hangover product online http://www.hangoverx.com/product.htm which actually has the mechanisms of alcohol poisoning the system and also the supplements they include in their product to reduce the problems caused by alcohol. Now I dont konw that much about it, but what do u guys reckon?? I have read through this page but I still dont fully get it...especially the bit that surround the mention of succinate... can anyone help me with this.
Also is it right that they mention their product has
Dextrose, Succinic Acid, Fumaric Acid, L-Glutamine and Ascorbic Acid. Is there anything else I missed.. im not sure about the succinate substrate they are talking about.
Also has anyone tried any products or supplements that have actually helped with hangovers?Someone suggested to me:
Pedialyte is all you need to cure a hangover. Buy a quart of the stuff and keep it in the fridge. In the morn when you feel like shit, wake up and chug it. You'll be amazed at how much better you will feel. I'll also include the recipie for those of you who have this stuff lying around at home ...........
2 quarts water
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
7 tablespoons sugar
1 packet sugar free kool aid"Presto" Pedialyte!
I dunno about this... what u reckon??
I know that alcohol affects many differeent receptors including the Nmda, DA, serotonin receptors and this may be why that attempting to mitigate the physiologic deficiencies induced by alcohol it doesnt totally fix the bad feelings of the hangover. Nevertheless Im sure something
can be done to help in some way. Thanks for any advice,
