If you see a qualified psychiatrist and they think it's appropriate, I'll bet you can get free samples to try -- the company that's marketing it is handing out lots. It's also cheaper to buy as Alertec (same thing) from online Canadian pharmacies such as www.crossborderpharmacy.com. However, they absolutely require a legitimate prescription from a U.S. doctor, which makes it perfectly legal, as far as I can tell.
There are ways to get it cheaper online, but I won't detail these here, partly because (as others have pointed out) you can't be sure of what you're getting. Besides, a clearly stated policy of this board is that info on obtaining prescription drugs without a prescription is strictly off-limits.
