I see a new p-doc on Thursday and am curious as to whether or not I am on the wrong MAOI--I'm taking Parnate and it is working okay, but I'm having very distraught moments--experiencing very agitated depression. I suggested Nardil to my previous p-doc (who sucks) and she would only give me a script for Parnate. With the GABAergic effect of Nardil (I might need a mood-stabilizer since there is question that I am BPII), wouldn't that possibly take the place of a mood-stabilizer?
All I hear is that Parnate is stimulating, but my ass was not stimulated. I was laid-out and had to take Wellbutrin to help. Should I possibly look into Nardil and Provigil? Should I look into a dopamine agonist (what are names of a few?) instead of the Wellbutrin?
Again, I have major mood swings but while on a mood stabilizer or AP, I get more depressed. Lamictal worked but I had serious side effects and had to go off. Right now, I'm feeling very distraught, body dysmorphic issues, nothing to look forward to, major irritability and bitchiness, no motivation (complete opposite of last week), VERY restless--i'm bored out of my mind but don't want to do anything, feel that things will never change--I'll always be a mess. To me, it might classify as a mixed state. I've also been very aggressive with my interactions with other people (comments, etc.)
When I started the Parnate, it kicked in so fast and I'm thinking that the lethargy maybe came from the Restoril I was taking...should I consider a benzo such as Xanax or Klonopin (I took them with Wellbutrin a couple of years ago and they helped--probably kept the edge off the Wellbutrin).
I'm all over the map with meds...does anyone have any good ideas or anything to suggest? I really need some help (obviously).Thank you!
Rick
