Dear Elise,
> I have been on wellbutrin for a few months, with not a lot of success.
What is your diagnosis besides ADD, if any? What doseage of Wellbutrin?
>Doc wants me to try provigil. I have ADD and was on dexedrine for a few years, but decided to try something different. Why did you decide this? Was the dex giving you a bad side-effect? Did it calm you or send you too high?

> eliseI have bipolar 2 and ADHD. Sometimes I think just ADHD, with related depression, but the jury is still out on that - in any case, it doesn't make any difference, because it's the symptoms one is treating, not the diagnosis. I am on 400 mg Wellbutrin SR a day, and 200 mg Provigil (I take 200 mg Wellbu. in the a.m., 100 at noon, and another 100 at dinnertime; I take 150 mg Provigil in the a.m., and the other 50 at dinnertime). I also take a 600 mg tab of Neurontin (for mood-stabilization) at night before bed...
The Wellbu is good for the depression, although I was getting some breakthrough apathy and hopelessness-type feelings. I was also tired during the day a lot, and my ADHD was not being addressed by the Wellbu only. The Provigil helped A LOT with mood (I have not felt the hopeless stuff ever since I went on it), and also with concentration and focus (I finished reading books I had started months -- hell, years -- before; I opened mail which had been going ignored for months, stuff like that...) I stopped being tired during the day, and I also lost 18 lbs on Provigil (got to my pre-baby weight for the first time in a decade! yea!), which I totally loved, and that helped with the depression, too, no doubt about that!
Anyway, it's been a great combination for me...
Good luck,
Wendy
