Transition from lexapro to effexor

For about three years I have been on SSRIs (celexa and then lexapro). The lexapro was great the the first month or two - it was quick acting and low side effects; however, it has really lost its potentcy for me. I am experiencing serious lathargy, lack of motivation, desire to hide under covers, depressed mood, etc... I am wondering if an SNRI might be a better approach for me (like effexor er). I am going to discuss it with my doc. I was wondering if anyone on this forum had made the switch from SSRI to SNRI and if it helped. many thanks for any thoughts you have!
