JYL (Shannon, right?),

I'm not as good looking nor as sweet as Ace, but may I jump in for a moment? If you're bipolar, why don't you have a moodstabilizer in your cocktail?

With regard to alcohol consumption, I'm bipolar and if I allow myself even one drink, I'm depressed for the next couple of days. I really miss the 3-beer effect, but I've come to the conclusion that I must not drink. Do you feel that alcohol consumption worsens your depression?

I was reading yesterday that when people drink regularly (i.e., excessively) they need supplemental niacin (nicotinic acid). Maybe try taking 500 mg/day of niacin to see if it helps you. Niacin will cause a flush (red skin and tingly all over) but it shouldn't hurt you and it will subside in an hour or so.

How's things over at Jay's site?

Best wishes.
