Years ago on Paxil which made me manic...many meds later and reavaluation of diagnosis from mag dep + panic/gad to Bi-polar +panic/GAD,
I tried going from Lexapro to "see if the CR formula was better then the 'old' Paxil" and within two weeks hypomania set in...doc said hold off another week and added risperdal---we/I really wanted to try it ( the paxil) and nothing---almost a full blown manic episode-- had to d/c and go back to lexapro.
Sidebar note: Although all of the "data" indicates that lexapro is "better" then Celexa, doc is not so sure. I think today--I see him in a few hours- we are revisiting celexa. Oh, the joy of being a medical toy.
