Hi -

I was on verapamil some years ago (240-360mg) for
migraine prophylaxis. I wasn't aware of any mood stabilizing properties it might have, and I was taking a variety of ADs at the same time, so it's hard to think back in retrospect if it did anything for mood. I found it somewhat less sedating than beta blockers.

I've tried Depakote more recently, and I find it does help a bit with mood. Unfortunately, I haven't really found a medication that lessens the frequency of my migraines - I'm lucky to have unusual ones I guess ;-) But these drugs do help a lot of people with their migraines, and are definitely worth trying.
