Tepiaca,
In desperation, I recently "trialed" pot for my Bipolar/atypical depression/anxiety condition. It worked wonders for me, both giving me energy, doing away with the depression and abating anxiety at the same time. This only worked, however, it was the "cheap" stuff. The more potent variety made me almost unable to function normally, due to my overly "altered" state.
It had been 20 years since I had smoked, I might add.
Since you can't expect any consistency in potency - there isn't "brand x" on which you can rely to get the same results every time AND because it is illegal, my husband and I both decided it was not something we wanted in our lives. The possiblity of getting arrested for just trying to be "well," was more than we wanted to gamble.
All this to say, your cousin (nephew?) may be masking or self medicating a mental disorder that needs to be addressed in the proper way, sooner, not later. That is precisely what I was doing 23 years ago at his age before I knew that what I was struggling with when not high was an illness.
I would have a serious talk with him and urge him to seek medical care, rather than self-treating.
Just my opinion.
