this has been a big concern for me as well and I have done a lot of research on the matter.

____SSRI's_____
I'm not sure why your dr is recommending Prozac if weight gain is a big concern for you. Prozac causes weight-gain in a lot of people, possibly more so than other SSRI's. SSRI's in general have been known to cause weight gain. The only SSRI that I know of that claims not to cause weight gain (though some may argue with this claim) is Lexapro.

___Other meds____
There are antidepresant alternatives to the SSRIs that work at least as well, but do not cause weight gain (and often actually cause weight loss). The first of these is Wellbutrin, which I have been on and lost some weight on. The second is Parnate, an MAOI that many claim to have lost weight on.
