> Last visit... my doctor wanted me to up my Effexor to 225 mg a day. I said ok... but quickly changed my mind after I left. The reason for the dosage up is that Effexor has pooped out... it probably won't poop back in after a dose increase, that rarely seems to happen. But it's not just that... I don't want to get the "SSRI effect"... the flattening, you guys know. Besides, SSRIs/SNRIs have never been fully effective for me.
How long were you on it before it "pooped out?" The reason I ask is because a lot of people get an initial positive effect then it wanes and they call this poopout. It's not. This is when dosage raising is the most effective when an initial response fades. Poopout usually occurs after at least a year of positive response at a level dose.
Also, an increase to 225 is significant because at that level Effexor starts to significantly affect norepinephrine so it's not the same as just raising the dose with an SSRI. Just some thoughts.
