Every so often I am linked to the postings of visitors of your website when I'm researching antidepressant medications. I am currently taking remeron, about 60mg/day before I go to bed, and have been taking this for almost a year now. I've varied the dosing every possible way I can think of to aid my mental problem, but problems continue to remain unsolved. I visit my doctor only two to three times a year, but it's still not enough because he always thinks I'm fine. I feel that I have a problem that he may not completely understand because he can only treat me according to what I tell him about my depression/anxiety experiences. Anyways, I'm not confident the remeron is aiding me because I'm still somewhat depressed, anxious, and weird under remeron. I still don't feel normal to this day under remeron and have lost confidence in this medication. Another major side effect is that my memory gets worse as I increase the dosage of remeron. I can't even comprehend well what I study, but I'm also in calculus 1 and college general chemistry.
Most of the experiences I read about remeron people have are sleepiness. I still have that to this day, which hinders my ability to have a complete day, because I get knocked out once I take the remeron, and my day's over after that.
What should I try now? I've tried paxil, when I was in the air force a little while, but too many side effects-especially sexual.
Prozac gave me sexual and appetite side effects when I took that for almost a year.
Wellbutrin Sr for two months made me really obsessively thinking about stuff and I was so error-prone at work. I even had mild hallucinations with that med., so I figured it wasn't right for me.
I've even tried St. John' wort and 5htp-I don't have much to say against st. john's wort, but 5htp made me irritable. Remeron makes me so irratable too, more as I increase the dosage.
What does my problem seem like and what other medications should I try? I also take concerta for possible adhd. I'm starting to feel I need more attention from my doctor before I get old. I'm 22 by the way, and my goal of becoming a pharmacist is being hindered by my antidepressant life. Does anyone have any advice for me? I'd really appreciate it.
