I believe that increasing my dose of meds has made me feel worse, I certainly seem to be having more side effects, Ive gained 4lbs, Im having more headaches, waking up feeling very groggy and tired all the time. They arent making me feel better, but worse?! Could this be the case?

You're taking amitriptyline right? TCA's are good from the sedation point of view but too much will knock you out. Thay can dehydrate you if you don't drink enough water (anticholinergic effects). I think if you're having those kind of side effects you should go back down in dosage. The key to TCA's is to increase the dose SLOWLY and to know when the dosage is too high. You might be able to tolerate the higher dosage later.
