In reply to Re: what is more sedating 7.5 mg or 45mg?, posted by den2 on April 8, 2003, at 15:02:35
Going to try 45mg for 2 weeks. Told my doctor that the sedation was getting to me. I can definitely see how going up to 45 will give me a little more adrenergic effect but I'm predicting feeling only "wired but tired." I give the analogy of the antihistamine effect being balanced by the adrenergic effect is like drinking a lot of coffee because you didn't get enough sleep last night. The coffee certainly helps but it's not like getting a good night's rest [meaning less antihistamine effect]. If this doesn't work, I'm going to see if 15mg is any better than the 30mg was for me. A few people have mentioned that they were actually less sedated at this low dose. Then, as a final try, I'm going to try 7.5 mg along with a little SSRI in combo.
