Abilify might help, but it can produce anxiety in the first few weeks. Have SSRIs been tried first? If your son cannot sleep because of the anxiety, or is experiencing nightmares, there is a legitimate need for Klonopin while waiting for a med to kick in.
These meds will likely cause nightmares and anxiety in the beginning in an anxious patient, so taking Klonopin for the first month is fine.
