Lithium has a half-life of approx. 24 hrs. for most people. You really need to give it about a week at a steady dosage to get a good blood level. Make sure you get the blood draw done approx. 8-12hrs after your last lithium dose, so your blood level has had time to stabilize. The bottom of the "maintenance" range is .6mEQ. Those were the "rules" when I was on the stuff a long time ago. Taking a 900mg/day dosage would get me into a range somewhere between .6-.9 depending on what time of year it was.
