I am in the states, so yes. My co-pay is $25, as it's a tier-3 drug for my insurance. It's been FDA-approved since 1944, but no generic maker is willing to pay for all of the overhead that's necessary given the special legislation on methamphetamine record keeping.
Abbott Labs makes it, but recently sold it to Ovation Pharmaceuticals for $40 million, who plans to promote it to psychiatrists.
The only difference between Dex and Desoxyn is a methyl component. What makes it bad when it's abused is the adulterants, the high doses used when it's abused, and the injection or inhalation of it. Desoxyn pills are impossible to break, and therefore are only possible to abuse if one takes it at doses 4-6x the suggested dosing. This will make you happy, but it'll also cause tolerance.
