It can take quite a while to feel the full effect of psych meds. Up to six or 8 weeks, some say more than that (some also say less than that!). I recommend giving it more time, and enjoying the benefit you have now from the first 3 weeks.

If you start to lose some of the benefit you've gained, and you're still taking the meds as directed, probably time to talk to your doc again.

How long it takes to totally recover depends on many factors, the severity of your symptoms, what your diagnosis and symptoms actually are, how your brain and body react to the meds, whether or not you get therapy in conjunction with meds...and all the factors can be different for different people.

How you will feel when totally recovered depends on what you are taking meds for. If you are trying to recover from depression, then you would not feel blue or depressed anymore, and maybe you'd even feel "happy." If you are overcoming a different problem, your recovery will look and feel different.

Note, too, there are many different kinds of depression, and that will affect your recovery, and how you will feel when recovered. You could probably get more help here if you tell a bit more about your 'disease' or symptoms or history or all those things.
