I was really into the idea of clonazepam because of it's serotonin agonism (ie. OCD augmentation to Nardil). It was going to be a 'bonus' for the it's GABA affinity. In the literature it is first as an augmentation strategy for OCD (minus AD's I cannot take concurrently with Nardil)
I was really happy with the idea, but my doc 9who is rather anti-benzo in terms of chronic treatment) thwarted the idea. He was indeed correct. An authority is necessary and empirical proof is needed of epilepsy.
Any other benzo would not have the same effects on serotonin - am I correct?
Now Lithium is next in the literature for augmentation for OCD? The plasma tests are a nuiscance but to my knowledge for a man of my age (24 y/o) pre testing is not necessary.
You say you've been on it. I've read of it's potentiation of serotonin effects by Nardil. Also it works on GABA.
I have been told, It will induce calm, and further help/abolish OCD processes.
Can you please tell me of your experience of it?
I assume there is no withdrawal
Thanks,
Ace.
