Hi Scott,

> How about adding S-AMe if you are at an impasse. You would end up funding the methylation process with the ATP liberated by a subsidized Kreb's Cycle. They might be synergistic. I know that you had a wonderful temporary response to S-AMe. Perhaps NADH would make it stick.

Scott thanks for taking time to think about my situation and post your thoughts. The irritability caused by an excess dosage of Enada NADH feels almost exactly like the irritability I experienced with SAM-e (after five months of good results). So I think that adding SAM-e would worsen the excess Enada NADH induced dysphoric mood state. I could try it, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that it would make it worse.

I'm convinced that it is the dopaminergic effects of Enada NADH that alleviate my atypical depression. As a naive layman, I wonder if the irritability (when it occurs) is due to an overly elevated norepinephrine level. Low doses of Wellbutrin gave me the same type of irritability.

I’m still very optimistic about this Enada NADH trial. I think I will find a dose that helps my atypical depression without inducing irritability. However, the optimal dose (if any) will be markedly lower than the suggested dose in the directions on the box. Maybe 2.5 mg once or twice a week with periodic "supplement extended holidays" will do the trick. Time will tell.

The irritability caused by yesterday’s dose has past and I am, once again, good-to-go. I’ll probably skip today, tomorrow, and the next day, prior to taking my next 2.5 mg dose. On the up-side, the monthly cost of my antidepressant medication (Enada NADH) continues to decline as I titrate in the downward direction.

Thanks again Scott. I will keep in mind your suggestion of adding-on some SAM-e to my Enada NADH.

-- Ron
