I know I'm really reaching here, but I will admit Paxil has been moderately helpful in the past for my SP/agoraphobia/panic/god-knows-what-else. The side effects were just killer though. I mean, I could actually handle the mood-flattening/apathy, but the mental clouding and sexual side effects were too much to bear. But even still, I'm pretty much stuck at this point. My new doctor has mentioned Xyrem and buprenorphine as future possibilities, but will only consider them after more conservative approaches are tried. So what I'm wondering is, would a very slow titration (over the course of six months or so, using the Paxil liquid suspension, up to about 60mg) stand any chance of reducing the occurrence of adverse effects? Would it even be worth trying? Paxil never offered anywhere near complete relief of the symptoms. But maybe in combination with 16mg clonazepam it'll be enough to get by on.
