Oversedation from Zyprexa, will Cytomel help?

Posted by wingedcat on February 28, 2003, at 0:46:44

I finally found a good psychiatrist. :) Diagnoses in the past: inattentive ADD, social anxiety & panic, depression, severe mood swings, subclinical hypothyroid. New psych and my therapist talked and think I am bipolar II/cyclothymic.

He told me to take Zyprexa 5mg before bedtime. In the morning, I was F*CKED UP in an unpleasant way! I was stumbling around, slurring my words, couldn't remember a thing I said a moment before. I had to call in sick another day from work because there is no way I could drive or work in that condition. In the afternoon I finally felt better. I am going to try taking only half the pill tonight (2.5 mg) and see if it feels better.

Has anyone else had this side effect from Zyprexa?

He is considering adding Cytomel as soon as I take him my thyroid results. I am happy that he is open to this, most doctors don't seem to be familiar with T3 augmentation. Has this helped any of you be more alert?

I am also on a low dose of Klonopin, but it wasn't that which caused the FUBAR-ness of this morning. Klonopin makes me somewhat hyper and chatty, it's nice.
