Re: Is weight gain dose dependent?

I think the answer is yes, it is dose dependent, but nobody knows exactly how things will go at a particular dose.

With TCA's, there is a definite correspondence between dose and amount of weight gained. Someone on 25mg/day of Elavil will gain weight, but if that same person goes to 50 mg they will gain more/faster, etc.

But is there a dose, say 5mg or 10 mg where they will not gain at all? If you find out, please let us know because I'd love to take Remeron or Doxepin for sleep and not gain weight.

> I am wondering if the dosage of a drug (in my case Remeron) would make a difference in the weight gain issue. Say, would taking 5 mgs. vs. 15 mgs. make any difference?
