Isn't Effexor's half life about 4 hours? Scott, I know you have tried effexor, how did you handle the withdrawl? I am in a little bit of a bind. I am dealing with ssri poopout--celexa. I am coming off of it now but added wellbutrin--up to 400 mg now. WB is okay but nothing like how celexa was in the first place. I had made up my mind about going on an MAOI--probably Parnate but my pdoc, who expressed his willingness to prescribe an MAOI, thought I should try effexor first. He said the choice was mine. I could get off celexa and WB within a week and a half or I could stick with WB and add Effexor. I am tempted to add the Effexor I just am worried that if it doesn't work, I will have a hell of a time coming off it before I can give an MAOI a trial. I have depression with atypical symptoms along with physical anxiety sypmtoms such as a constant tightness in the chest. I am confident an MAOI could put me into remission but maybe I haven't tried enough of the "new" ad's before I move on to an MAOI (I've tried paxil, celexa and WB, all with very adequate trials of over 12 weeks) (not interested in TCA's).
