> My doc prescribed me Requip to counter the sexual side effects of Lexapro. Wellbutrin wasn't a good choice because it added to my anxiety. so far (3 days) requip is making me feel like I'm sleepwalking, I have bad nausea and stomach upset, and I'm not noticing an improvement in sexual responsivenes...granted, probably still too early. I've done some research and it seems like the drowsiness is a permanent side effect. Anyone out there been on requip for a while? Do the symptoms go away? Does it really bring back the old spark?

what dosage are you taking? if you started at anything above .25 mg (lowest strength tablet) taken two or three times daily, then that may be too much......the nausea you mention is fairly common at first -- after awhile (a few weeks) it morphs into indigestion which should subtly fade, but it might not go away entirely. the drowsiness/sleepiness in my experience never really goes away and seems to remain constant, though you may grow slightly accustomed to it....just try to keep the dosage as low as possible and avoid situations where nodding off unexpectedly could cause problems (hard-to-do, i know). some parkinson's patients take relatively high dosages and that's where "sleep attacks" are much more common.....there's a warning in the package insert about this issue.
i had very little interest in sex before i began taking it and nothing about the drug changed that, so i can't comment on your inquiry in that area -- the reason i got the prescription was to combat 'restless leg syndrome' -- it's very effective in that regard and has an mild anti-anxiety effect (for me, anyway).
sorry i can't offer any more info -- perhaps others here have taken it for the same purpose as you and they may have some comments. good luck.
