Yeah, manhattan can be tough surprizingly. No one like benzos or MAOIs here. All the pdocs I have been to see here have been subpar ... even the "Godfathers" at Columbia. If you can afford it, Dr. Liebowitz from Columbia I have heard is excellent.
For ECT ... hands down is Dr. Sackeim.
