You do know that betamethasone is a synthetic corticosteroid too, don't you? So I'm surprised he gave you a steroid ointment & steroid/antibiotic drops. I'm not questioning your doctor, Dinah, but I know I question mine constantly for the reasons he does things. It often makes him rethink & come up with a better idea for me.
Dinha, I'm not questioning your diet, okay? And I do know the tendency to develop eczema is inherited but nutrtional improvements can alleviate the symptoms. How's your vitamin B complex intake? One of the reasons I dislike these so-called 'balanced' B complex formulas is the amount of the diff B vitamins are all the same (i.e. 50 mg B1, 50 mg B2, 50 mg B6, 50 mg niacin, etc) & that's NOT what the body needs. When that term 'balanced' is used, it means the numbers are balanced, not the amounts the body uses & needs.
What you're better off getting is a 'Stress Formula' with added vitamin C. Or the best way is by food - I still can't extoll the value of nutritional yeast flakes enough (AND it's not live yeast so is safe for all, even those with yeast infections).
Here's a link to a UK site about eczema & nutrtion:

I'm offering advice but you're in no way obligated to listen or do anything about it. I just want people to be well educated about the options.
