I am having moderate success on an ssri/WB combo but from all the good things I have heard about the MAOI's and from the symptomology I have which seems like atypical depression, it seems like an MAOI might give me the "breakthrough" I have been looking for for a long time.

Most people who prefer Nardil have a serious anxiety component to their illness. At higher doses Nardil works on GABA. I don't believe Parnate does. However, I have definately heard of people who prefered Parnate over Nardil, even those with strong anxiety. It's true, Parnate has much less s/e's. If your prob is more depression try Parnate first. If more anxiety, try Nardil. Both are very good. Search old threds and you'll find a lot of Parnate fans.
