Cortisol and Depression

Posted by Peter S. on January 25, 2003, at 14:30:06

Has anyone ever had results from taking cortisol enhancements-I think hydrocortisone? This is of course after confirming by tests that one has low cortisol. Cortisol level tests don't seem to be very common in diagnosing people with depression. I'm assuming that there are some problems with these tests and giving cortisol. Anybody know about this or why it is not an important part of diagnosis and treatment?
