I have weird head pain that is associated with
a stabbing feeling in my head, "tender" spots on my scalp, tightness in my jaw, a pressure like feeling in my head. Sometimes the symptoms trade off. I don't have migraine headaches (no aura or anything like that).I'm curious if you find that certain medicines may actually trigger a worse headache?
I have found that a number of medicines make mine worse: Trileptal,Zoloft,Wellbutrin
And a handful make them better (discovered by trial and error): Risperdal,Serzone,Topamax,Klonopin
A large number of meds don't affect my head pain.
Curious, have you tried any of the medicines on the above list? Any meds make your head pain worse?
The propranolol is an antihypertensive drug. Serzone is to some extent to (it can cause hypotension as a side effect). Both meds wiggle a similar receptor (I'm not a doctor and I could be wrong as always, refer to your physician).

> My problem started 7 years ago with awful headaches, these led after 2 years to anxiety and depression, I am now doing ok but I have a question I cannot seem to answer, why is it that a low dose of propranolol is the only thing that affects, ie kills dead my headaches,
> No ad , pain killer or antiepileptic touches then, niether does any alternative tecnique and I have tried many.
> I know propranolol is used for migraine prevention but these are not migraines, tension headaches or clusters. They used to start at midday, get worse till they were agony at night and seem to have some connection with scalp sorenesses, especially above and behind the ideas.
> I had to start propranolol again on saturday as they came back, since sundasy no headaches! any ideas?
