> Last night I took 25 mgs. of Seroquel before bed. BOY did it knock me out! It is 24 hours later and I am STILL dragging my butt! She did give it to me for sleep, I don't need a med for psychosis. I am not fond of taking it for sleep either. I think what I will try is to use a 1/4 tablet maybe just for a few more weeks will my body adjusts to the med changes, and then see if just using the Restoril will be enough. Or maybe there is something else for sleep that would be better than Restoril? Know of anything good? Even taking a double dose right now of Restoril isn't keeping me asleep. Upped the Zoloft last night, no nausea (thanks to you!).

Seroquel will knock you down like a ton of bricks for sure. I've got some 25mg tabs I keep around just in case I have some kind of major wigout that isn't a panic related thing that would involve super hostility and/or paranoia (but that hasn't happened in a couple of years and Depakote works fine for my anger probs.). I used to crack the 25mg tabs in half and take them a couple of hours before bedtime so I wouldn't be "hungover" so badly in the mornings. It takes about 12 hrs for the med to start to really back off the D2 receptors (that's why it is typically prescribed 2-3x daily for psychosis). I always noticed a "rebound" effect of heightened sense of alertness and focus about from about 16-24hrs postdosing (which was actually somewhat helpful at work). I would bring up the idea of Neurontin or Topamax for sleep to your pdoc. Right now I am taking Depakote+Trileptal+Klonopin at bedtime and I sleep OK, but of the "mood stabilizers" the two that konked me out the best were Neurontin and TOP. 15mg of Topamax was all I ever needed, it just had a little too long of a half-life and I was too groggy the next day. Neurontin wears off quick in the mornings and I always woke up in a good mood. hope this helps.
