normal dose of lithium?

Could someone tell me the normal dose of lithium?
My pdoc is going to add a "small dose" of lithium to my 75mg desipramine. I am very sensitive to meds and am wondering what a small dose is? I am not bipolar, but seem to have an underlying anger and irritation. Pdoc said lithium boosts serotonin levels. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks, Angel1
